Planning a holiday requires meticulous attention to detail, especially when considering insurance options that account for existing health conditions. It's essential for me to find a policy that not only covers standard travel inconveniences but also provides comprehensive coverage for any health-related issues that may arise.

For those who have navigated the insurance market with health conditions in mind, or experts in the travel insurance sector: Based on your experiences or expertise, which travel insurance providers or policies would you recommend for individuals with pre-existing health conditions? Factors such as coverage scope, claim process, customer service, and affordability are of particular interest as I seek a reliable and inclusive insurance solution for my travels.

We went for online through compare the market. Whichever insurance you buy please make sure you put every small thing down in health conditions. We had to fight to get a pay out for husbands 2 weeks in hospital while in Turkey.

He had forgotten to put Rhinitis, which is like hay fever and arthritis which he had temporarily while having treatment for cancer. It was temporary and not having treatment. They tried to not pay out even though he had a massive chest infection and sepsis.

It was so much stress to fight it. 6 months later they have accepted that they are wrong. Don’t risk leaving anything off.

Don't miss: Need travel insurance with undiagnosed medical conditions and referrals. Recommendations?

Not sure about Staysure anymore, I've used them for years as I have health problems but my hubby had silent heart attack in August and they have more than double our insurance.

Nationwide Flex plus, we’ll worth the £13 a month fee -phone and car breakdown are also covered- for both me and hubbie.

Paid up immediately on a claim.

Wouldn’t touch Staysure with a barge pole. Was very expensive (bought as we thought they were the best) but refused to pay on claim.
