(I'm autistic) over how I'm going to get my washing dry

I'm in a small 2 bed flat with very limited space, no access to any outdoor space at all.

My previous years method was my clothes airer with a small oil heater in the centre, coupled with dehumidifiers. However my son has stolen the oil filled heater to try & grow weed (his own admission ;) ) & threw an unrelated hissy fit on Tuesday night & chucked my big airer across my living room, breaking it  so now I'm left with a couple of over door things & a dinky airer... I can get about half a load on these. This itself is driving me nuts as I hate putting on a half load as I see it's a waste :(

I don't know what to do. I've looked at the JML dry pods but I've been put off them as I live in a small flat & nowhere to store it when I don't need it. The heated airers.... Well I'm on the fence.... Don't really want to spend £100+ on one for my son to break it again ;) revert back to my previous method; bog standard airer & oil filled heater - but run the risk of my son stealing it again... He went off on one this morning saying he would "rob me blind" if I take anything from him (he has a disgusting habit of shoplifting & anything I find in his bedroom I suspect he's nicked I remove) or do I try & get a tumble dryer on finance... I've looked at AO & I like the idea of their catalogue style finance as I could make minimum payments over winter & pay the rest off over summer when I'm paying less on my electric, if I get approved for the finance that it is! I do have a question re the tumble dryer though... Can you put it on a table or do they have to be placed on the floor?

Tia for reading.

Any help unscrambling my racing thoughts would be appreciated!!!!

Nothing more depressing than wet washing I googled the weather this morning and accordingly filled my washing machine with bedding and then the sea mist rolled in..

I brought a pull out washing line for my living room diner…. And it has 4 lines on it… so it’s discreet when not in use… my clothes are dry over night x

If your in a flutter, coat hangers for all clothing and hang them from curtain poles above a radiator x

Dehumidifier and a standard folding airer from Asda.

Or tumble drier (John Lewis do 0% credit and free delivery soo I get appliances from there).

When you have sorted an airer, and have reclaimed your oil radiator, cover the rad & damp washing with a bedsheet, it keeps the heat in & your washing will dry quicker.

Hang in there with your son. He will come out the other side of this. Mine did xx

Hello, I'm also autistic - My advice to you right now is to try and find a way to regulate yourself for tonight.

There's nothing you can do right this second when it comes to drying washing; So, for tonight try and take a breather.

Tomorrow you can look in to a new airer, you can get one starting from £10-15.

A dehumidifier is also beneficial.

If you find yourself unable to dry washing properly, Check out your local launderette. They have large dryers that can dry your washing within 20 minutes in my local launderette, Costs me around £1 to do a multiple loads in one large dryer (I wash it at home)

Your difficulties with your son is a whole different thing for you to manage and I wish you all the best with that.
