I am confused, why for some, is it preferable to have the COL payment paid into a bank account rather than credited to the utility account?
I did mean the £400.00 assistance for energy. Mine has been credited to my utility account and as a result my DD has been reduced to £7.66 a month for both. I do live alone and have never been a high user of either gas or electricity. Submit readings every month.
My water including waster is only £4.00 month and I do not skimp on this. Unfortunately not able to access metre to take a reading. Have contacted company and they want to charge me for an engineer visit if there is not an issue. As far as they are concerned it is correct. Have all of this in writing just in case.

From what I have read, some don’t intend to use the payment towards their energy bills so having a bank credit means they can do what they choose to do with the money.
The Energy payment is all ready going on the utility bill so the COL payment will help in other ways.
Perhaps if someone has already paid the extra into electric account mine I have to pay bill in full before I get the 66 pound
I don't think you get a choice, do you? The supplier distributes it the way it wants to, and that will be what's the easiest way for them, accounting wise.
Some suppliers can't be bother to split themselves. It's easier for them to transfer you the funds and you put x amount on whichever wish. So half n half or more gas than ele or fill oil tank up
